Wooden beads are all the rage. They adorn jewelry, key chains, garland, and wreaths. They are used to create simple yet elegant Christmas ornaments and decor.
Most wood bead wreaths have a slender wire wreath base. Various artificial and preserved foliages adorn the wreath making the wreath itself, and all those beautiful beads, the background. They are gorgeous, but I wanted to create something different. The idea starts with the slender bead wreath form, but I have woven a design using various size wood beads to make the piece more wall art and less wreath.
This wreath is made up of dozens of birch beads. The wood is unfinished birch giving it a pale, natural color perfect for farm house, minimalist, and modern homes. It bridges the gap between everyday and holiday wreath. Add a red velvet bow for Christmas. A delicate pink bow for Easter. Hang it in your kitchen, den, bedroom or on your door.
